Youth Enterprise Programme

Moy Valley Community Services Company is
currently running an educational Youth Enterprise Programme which is aimed at encouraging the entrepreneurial skills of youth in their mid to late teens.
This programme is open to transition year students. The course provides these students with the relevant skills and knowledge required, in order to generate a business idea, and also the theory of preparing a successfull business plan Students gain a valuable insight in to setting up and running their own business.
Students will be involved in all aspects of the programme from generating a business idea right through to producing a product. They will present their work in the form of a finalised project.

- As well as learning skills about business idea generation and development of business plans for same, participants have the opportunity to develop presentation and teamwork skills and grow in confidence in initiative taking.
All prepared projects will be judged by representatives from both Moy Valley Resources and the County Enterprise Board at a presentation ceremony in The Kennedy Glasgow Centre, Ballina. This will enable all participating students to showcase the effort they have out in to this program. The judges base their decision on both the actual business idea, and also the method in which their business plan has been undertaken.
The three successful groups will be awarded trophies and medals, and also their schools will be presented with a cheque. All participating students in this program will receive a certificate in appreciation of their hard work and dedication.
One of Moy Valley Resources aims is to provide services to disadvantaged youth within the area. As such, we are constantly seeking ways to improve the lives of those who are disadvantaged in the area. For this reason, we are in the process of setting up a further project which is aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged youth within the area. Once we have this project up and running, we will also include the members of our over 55 club to interact socially with the youth in the locality.
