What is Kaleidos?
The Kaleidos project aimed to improve knowledge of the working practices between public, private and voluntary organisations focused on the social integration of d/Deaf people.
Starting from the experience of the partner member states, this initiative aimed to collect information on existing models of social dialogue.
The objectives of the project
- To identify at local and European level best practices and their impact on the social integration of young d/Deaf people, especially:
- Access to social, medical, diagnostic and care services
- Access to education and training for young people
- Job quality in the work place.
- To compare at European level characteristics of the role of associations representative of the integration process in Europe
- To identify strategies for the development and accreditation of associations belonging to the European network for integration.
- To initiate a network of communication for the social inclusion of young d/Deaf people.
What were the outcomes of the project?
- A new network of transnational partners, connected through the web site where all the documentation produced by the project was kept.
- The consolidation of local networks and the opportunity to know and to deepen the theme of deaf person's social integration.
- The opportunity to inform and train about the commitment of the European Union in the policies against social exclusion.
- The creation of analysis models of Best Practice for deaf person's integration.
- The creation of supporting tools.
